Used to dump the charge-air back into the air intake system keeping external noise to a minimum. This increases both quicker throttle response and higher clamping load to maintain boost pressure more reliably.
This is a closed loop valve and protects the turbo by lowering lag between gear changes, thus prolonging the life of the turbo and increase in performance.. The standard valves fitted are renowned for failing for failing and leaking the boost pressure. You will definitely needs ones of these if your car is remapped.
